The MITAB library is an open-source project aimed at providing read and write access to the TAB file format from MapInfo Corp. RW Net uses MITAB.DLL for writing TAB files, but handles reading of TAB files natively.

A more recent version of MITAB.DLL is sometimes available from RouteWare website.

From version 2.18 of RW Net, the version of MITAB.DLL is checked. If this doesn't match that of RW Net, the library is not loaded and MIF files are generated instead. Current version is 1.7.0.

Currently (Sep 2010) the version found at RouteWare website is more recent than the public one.
